In March this year, The Sydney Morning Herald reported that the last quarterly breakdown figures for 2009 showed, in the past year, health and social service to be Australia’s biggest-employing industry (employing 1.2m) and aged care the fastest growing sector now employing a record 205,000 Australians. 

Skillquest recognises the need for additional training and up skilling of staff in the health care industry if current and future needs are to be met.
Our focus in the health care industry is currently directed towards disability and aged care.

CHC30208 Certificate III in Aged Care
This course gives students the skills and knowledge to provide care and support to the elderly within residential homes and the community. The course meets all training and workplace requirements that are pre-requisites to be an aged care worker in Australia. Upon successful completion of the course a person is able to work in aged care homes, facilities, hospitals and the client’s home environment. 

CHC40108 Certificate IV in Aged Care
This course gives students the skills and knowledge to carry out activities related to the maintenance of an individual’s wellbeing through personal care and/or other activities of living.  Upon successful completion of this course a person may provide services to individuals with complex needs, and/or work with groups of older people. Individuals holding this qualification may, if required, undertake a supervisory role and/or coordinate a limited number of other workers.

CHC30308 Certificate III Home and Community Care
This course gives students the skills and knowledge to carry out activities related to the maintenance of an individual’s personal care and/or other activities of living.
The course meets all training and workplace requirements that are pre-requisites to be a Home and Community Care Support Worker in Australia. Upon successful completion of this course a person is able to work in a variety of settings, including the client’s home and community.

This course gives students the skills and knowledge to work with a person with a disability and carry out activities related to recreation, integration support, personal care and other activities of daily living.

This course gives students the skills and knowledge to work in residential group homes, training resource centres, day respite centres and open employment services, other community settings and clients’ homes.
